Directions for Use
Apply once daily in PM. Place three drops (a little goes a long way) on your fingertips and apply to treatment area; repeat if necessary if covering entire face. Gently press into skin and lightly spread over treatment area. Skin Lightening can be used on all areas of the face. Remember the skin is not an up and down organism so the product once dispersed will spread to a larger area then what you apply at the surface.
Skin Lightening serum is an effective treatment for hyper pigmented skin. Depending on the severity of hyper pigmentation and depth (confirm with Wood’s lamp), your clients skin will show improvement starting at week three or four with twice daily application. Treatment regimen should not last more then six to eight weeks at a time with four to six weeks breaks in between.
Hydroquinone is a known skin irritant and certain skin types react adversely to its application. Clients should be advised of this potential and tested before a prescription is written for a home care regimen. Fitzpatrick scale I, II and Asian skin normally have the most potential for irritation and Fitzpatrick Scale V and VI, for obvious reasons, should rarely if ever use this product.
Resistant pigmented spots or areas (i.e. melasma) should be examined under a woods lamp to determine depth of pigmentation and additional procedures should be discussed to meet client expectations. The complete removal of activities that involve extended periods of direct sun exposure may be required, with the addition of medium depth chemical peels to be performed.
CAUTION: It is very important to remind your clients that sun avoidance is critical. This product contains Hydroquinone and with over exposure of direct sunlight will degenerate dermal elastic fibers which results in additional hyperpigmentation thus reversing the effects of initial treatment and desired results.
