PRODUCT OVERVIEW: Hydrating Lotion is a powerful tool against the effects of daily cleansing, environmental attacks on the skin and some hereditary skin disorders.
Hydrating Lotion will help stimulate collagen synthesis in young and old fibroblasts, increases ceramide and fatty acid levels (reduces water loss particularly after peel sessions), Inhibits sebum creation within the skin (helps to reduce pore size) and effective in reducing hyperpigmentation (within basil cell). With continued use, the effects and loss of moisture (TEWL) due to daily cleansing can be reduced and higher levels of essential intercellular lipids be achieved. This process of lipid renewal will insure proper barrier function and increase the natural process of cellular sloughing within the stratum corneum to reveal new layers of healthy skin.
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is a powerful precursor to a family of enzymes which have antioxidant properties. The process by which Niacinamide affects the skin is far too complicated for this manual, but the use of Vitamin B3 at specific percentages and pH are well documented within the scientific community:
Inhibits sebum production (this may contribute to a reduction in pore size and smoother skin texture)
Increased epidermal production of skin barrier lipids (e.g., ceramides)
Increased protection from trans epidermal water loss
Improves skin barrier resulting in less irritation, inflammation and skin redness
Increases collagen production which leads to a reduction in fine lines
Inhibits the transfer of melanosomes from melanocytes to keratinocytes leading to a reduction in hyperpigmentation
Special Note: Serene ‘Hydrating Lotion’ was formulated to be slightly thinner so that it can be used in combination with other Serene ‘Lotions or Creams’. This process can either thin down or dilute the strength of other Serene professional products to the desired feel and strength. Flexibility is key to maintaining beautiful skin.
